Samuel E. "Buster" Mobley 
June 20, 1924 - August 29, 2015

Samuel E. “Buster” Mobley, 91, died Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont, following a short illness.  He was born on June 20, 1924, in Lexington, Texas, to Olive Orean Gay Mobley and Raymond Edward Mobley. He was the youngest of three children.   Buster lived a long, active and happy life.

Buster served in the United States Army, as a Gunnery Sergeant in the Philippines, during World War II.  After the war, he moved to Houston and went to work for Hughes Tool Co.  It was there that he met and married Ann Safar. 

They lived in Houston and raised three daughters – Cheryl, Pam and Tina.   In 1962, he went to work for NL Shaffer in Beaumont.  They bought twenty acres and moved to Village Mills, where they raised cows, chickens, rabbits and girls.   It was a happy time for all.

After twenty-eight years of marriage, Ann preceded him in death on November 14, 1984.

In 1992, Buster married Marilyn Eddins, and to sweeten the deal gained three stepchildren—Eddie, Annette and Clark.  They have had twenty-three happy years together.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Eddins Mobley; daughters, Cheryl Munson; Pam Vincent and her husband, Paul; and Tina Davis and her husband, Don; stepchildren: Eddie Eddins and his wife, Eva; Annette Rosco and her husband, Ken; and Clark Eddins and his wife, Christi; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom love him dearly.

He is also survived by his best friend Travis Hare and his wife, Andra.  Travis and Buster shared many years of adventure, hunting and fishing, and telling tall tales. 

Buster is dearly loved and will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, family, friends and colleagues. He touched many people and left positive memories, from a kind, generous and loving heart.

A gathering of Mr. Mobley’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1600 S. Pine Street, Kountze, with his interment to follow at Village Mills Cemetery, Village Mills.
