William Murl Owen, 89, of Port Neches died Thursday, August 27, 2015. He was born on August 14, 1926, in Rising Star, to Thelma Mae Shipley and William Alvin Owen.

William was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was an accountant, scratch golfer, and coin collector. William enjoyed sports, especially football.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Owen of Port Neches; daughter, Brenda Ann Crain and her husband, Chuck, of Nederland; sons, Tim Owen and his wife, Melanie, of The Woodlands and James A. Owen of Nederland; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Bill Owen and his wife, Jean, of Tyler.

A graveside service for Mr. Owen will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2015, at Hawkins Cemetery, East Blackbourn Street, Hawkins, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
