Sheila Mary Duplecion
October 9, 1934 - August 25, 2015

Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at 2:44 a.m., the nation lost a citizen. Not just any citizen, but a legal immigrant who became a legal citizen. That is like being adopted. She chose us. Sheila Mary Lenagh Duplecion, 80, of Beaumont, passed away. Sheila was born on October 9, 1934, to Kathleen Greer Lenagh and Francis Joseph Lenagh, in Canada.

On a personal note, she chose us too. We were not always grateful enough of what Sheila brought to our family, but she did know we loved her. Sheila received back love multiplied in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s games and was the queen hostess for all family get togethers. Sheila also enjoyed hunting and fishing. When she wasn’t with her family she was working as a RN at St. Elizabeth in Orthopedic Surgery.

Sheila married Wilton Duplecion on October 6, 1967. Wilton died in 2010. Her husband was the most important person in her life.

This blessed woman not only loved and accepted a new husband; she took on four children, Alice, Mark, Randy, and Blaine Duplecion, who were all perfect angels. Sheila couldn’t have asked for better children.

Survivors include her children, Alice Duplecion of Lake Charles; Mark Duplecion and his wife, Darla M., of Crosby; Randy Duplecion of Lumberton; Blaine Duplecion and his wife, Darla G., of Sour Lake; Merri White and her husband, Jim, of Spring; Charlie Borque of Beaumont; sister, Fay Lane and her husband, Morris, of Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Michelle Nezat, Lori Hodge, Melissa Hale, Leah McIntosh, Haley Duplecion Lee, Kyle, Kirby, and Jake Duplecion, Trevor Clegg, and Kristen Green; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Meredith Nezat, Addison and Avery Hodge, Emma and Chase Hale, Claire and Cade McIntosh, Jaycee Abbo, Bryndyn Lee, Karsyn Duplecion, and Jackson Green.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilton Duplecion; and one sister, Kay Kometz.

A gathering of Mrs. Duplecion’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at China Cemetery, China.
