Doris M. “Mama” Jones, 84, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beaumont. She was born on December 6, 1930, to Nancy Luticia Watson and Melvin Henry Williams, in Hemphill, Texas. Mama Jones loved her family and country life. She was a simple woman with a life rich in love, faith, and most of all family.

Survivors include her sons, Raymond Jones and his wife, Delores, of Lumberton; Dale Jones and his wife, Grace, of Beaumont; and Sammy Jones of Beaumont; one brother, Terrell Williams and his wife, Connie, of Auburn, California; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Lester Raymond Jones and two sisters, Patsy Williams and Alice Adams.

A gathering of Mrs. Jones’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Fannett, 17019 Highway 124, Fannett. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Fannett, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon, at Yellow Pine Cemetery, Highway 87, Yellow Pine, Texas.
