Jean LeSassier Stewts 
February 9, 1930 - August 22, 2015

Jean Stewts, 85, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side Saturday, August 22, 2015, after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 9, 1930, to Mattie and BradyAlexander in Huntington, Texas.

 

After graduating from Huntington High School, she married Malcolm “Mike” LeSassier and soon moved to Beaumont. She had been a charter member of Westgate Memorial Baptist Church and currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont. She raised two daughters, Kathy and Michelle, and later worked at Gibson’s, J.C. Penney, and St. Elizabeth Hospital. Jean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Bean and her husband, Mickey; son-in-law, Don Rucker and his wife, Tina; grandchildren, Chris Rucker and his wife, Theresa; Casey Rucker and his wife, Stephanie; Carrie Murphy and her husband, Justin; and Cody Bean and his wife, Julia; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Carrie Alexander; husband, Mike LeSassier; daughter, Kathy Rucker; and her six siblings.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Stewts’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Broussard’s. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon, at Rocky Springs Olds Center Cemetery, CR 176, Huntington.
