Kenneth Wayne Edgerton, Sr., 77, of Port Arthur, died Friday, August 7, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on December 29, 1937, to Ruby Lois Stephenson and Woodrow T. Edgerton, Sr., in Port Arthur.

Kenneth was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He retired as a Pumper from Star Enterprises after thirty-five years of service. Kenneth enjoyed being a gunsmith.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Nita Edgerton of Port Arthur; son, Kenneth Wayne Edgerton, Jr. of Crosby; daughters, Shelly Denine Frederick of Groves and Jennifer Lyn Doig of Houston; grandchildren, Christopher Sellers, Erica Nicole Lee, Leigh Ann Frederick, Samantha Marie Edgerton, and Ashley Nicole Edgerton; great-grandchildren, Emilio Rosales, Miguel Alvarez, Sean Sellers, Boo Alvarez, Daniel Sellers, Aubree Jane Lee; sister, Carole Crowell of Katy; brother, Woodrow T. Edgerton, Jr., of Groves; and dear friend, Michael Juul, of Copenhagen, Denmark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Brian John Edgerton and Barry LeRoy Edgerton.

A gathering of Mr. Edgerton’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. followed by a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2015, at St. Therese, The Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Arthur, with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
