Marie Pitts, 90, of Kountze, died Thursday, August 6, 2015.  She was born on July 22, 1925, in Kaufman, to Rosa Runnels Crum and Comer Crum.  Mrs. Pitts worked as a nurse for forty-five years and was a member of the Church of Christ, in Lumberton.

Survivors include her son, James Pitts of Kountze; grandchildren, Amy Mapel and her husband, John, of Edmond, Oklahoma; Justin Pitts of Kaufman; and Theresa Pitts of Beaumont; great-grandchildren, Austin Mapel, Devon Mapel, Carys Mapel, and Embry Pitts; and sister, Lou Berry of Vann.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin L. Pitts; and brother, John Crum. 

A gathering of Mrs. Pitts family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2015, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Oakland Memorial, in Terrell.
