Corey Jay Wilder
June 21, 1974 - July 29, 2015

Corey Jay Wilder 41 of Port Neches, (raised in Kountze) went to heaven July 29, 2015. Corey will always remain alive in our hearts, with memories of his quick wit and pure zest for living. He was born on June 21, 1974, in Houston and from that minute forward the world was a better place…

Corey attended school in Kountze, Lamar Institute of Technology and was a respected U.S. Army Ranger. He valued and enjoyed his technician career with Mettler-Toledo International. A good man with a big heart, he generously shared his sense of happiness and love with his family and friends. ‘On call’ to anyone who needed him. Corey was just ‘that kind’, a really kind guy.

Survivors include his sweet and loving wife of 16 years Starlene Wilder; his ‘apple didn’t fall far from the tree’ son US Army Ranger E4 Aaron Wilder of Fort Benning, GA; his proud parents Allen and Becky Wilder of Kountze; his nice mother-in-law Linda Cover Mosier of Kodiak, AK and father-in-law Earl Nicholas Mosier of Eagle Point, OR; his much admired sister Shelli Edwards and husband David of Wallisville; his fun spirit niece Merritt (Bebop) Drewery of Baton Rouge, LA; his awesome nephew Tommy (Spud) Drewery and his great-nephew Maverick Drewery of Baytown; his dear grandmother Norma Wilder of Kountze; his adored grandparents Lt. James G. (Big Jim) and Kathleen Nicholson of Reno, NV. Corey was blessed with an immense number of fun sharing aunts, uncles, cousins, second and third cousins, nieces and nephews and all his close, close friends… he is sorely missed by all. His spirit will be with us forever, “Cheers to our Corey”!

Corey and Star shared a full and happy life together socializing with family and friends, attending many Texas Ren fairs, festivals, motorcycling benefits and other special occasions.

Mr. Wilder’s committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, Kountze. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial for Corey’s family and friends at the family home in Kountze on Sat. Aug. 8 at 5:00 pm.
