Larry Gene Hood, 54, of Fannett, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston. He was born on December 22, 1960, in Liberty. Larry was the son of Sherry Williamson Hood and the late Jack Hood. He retired as an operator for Exxon Mobil.

Survivors include his wife of seventeen years, Brenda Hood; son, Danny Hood and his wife, Stephanie, of Nederland; grandchild, Corbin Hood; mother, Sherry Hood of Bastrop; aunt, Rhonda Seifert of Bastrop; cousin, Stefanie Seifert of Bastrop; and sister, Terry Kerr of Lumberton.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Kennie Alice Abshier Merendino.

A gathering of Mr. Hood’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Liberty City Cemetery, Liberty.
