Linda Sala, 57, of Spring, formerly of Groves, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at Kindred Hospital in Spring. She was born on June 16, 1958, to Angelita Villarreal and Pedro Ortiz, Jr, in Brownsville. Linda was the type of person you wanted to be, family oriented, loving, and kind. She enjoyed her weekend fun times with her three sisters, baking cookies and cakes, reading, and going to the beach. Most importantly, she was very proud and enjoyed making memories with her, as she called them her grand-babies, whom she adored. 

Survivors include her husband, Vincent P. Sala III; son, Kenneth Kirkland and his wife, Casey, of Keller; father, Pedro Ortiz, Jr. of Port Arthur; sisters, Judy Swanzy and her husband, Linn, of Aledo; Norma Bryan and her husband, Bob, of Port Arthur; and Angela Ward of Groves; grandchildren, Kamdyn Kirkland and Conner Kirkland; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Angelita Ortiz and grandmother, Geneveva Villarreal.

A gathering of Mrs. Sala’s family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont.
