Robert Wayne Langston, Jr. “Wayne”, 48, of Kountze, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.  A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, he was born on October 9, 1966 to Wilma Francis Landis Langston and Robert Wayne Langston, Sr.

Wayne lived in Kountze his entire life.  He enjoyed working cattle with his father and raised show pigs for many 4-H and FFA members.  He was a supporter of the Kountze FFA Alliance, the Hardin County Youth Project Show, and HCFAYA Show Barn.  He grew up raising and showing animals and had a passion for passing on his love of animals to the future generations. 

Survivors include his wife, Mele Langston; children, Christopher Langston and Sarah Langston; parents, Wilma and Robert Langston; brothers, David Langston and his wife, Becky and Howard Langston, all of Kountze; niece, Jennifer Langston of Nacogdoches;  nephew, Hagan Langston of Silsbee; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clara and Fred Landis of Kountze; grandfather, Joe Billy Langston of Kountze; and grandmother, Dannie Toney of Lumberton.

A gathering of Mr. Langston’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church Youth Group, 1015 South Pine Street, Kountze, Texas  77625.
