George “Sonny” Garza, 68, of Beaumont, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of this area, he was born on March 25, 1947, to Geraldine Condrey Garza and George E. Garza, and was a United States Navy veteran. Sonny was a patriotic and quiet, faithful person who loved cooking, gardening, fishing, and rodeos.

Survivors include his wife, the love of his life, Becki Garza; sons, James Garza and his wife, Denise, of Linden and David Garza of Marshall; grandson, Codi Garza; father, George E. Garza and his wife, Dollie; and sister, Brenda Jo Elliot and her husband, Wayne, all of Beaumont.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Garza.

A gathering of Mr. Garza’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a remembrance service by the Elk’s Lodge #311 to follow at 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
