Billy Ray Simmons, Sr., 61, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Winnie Community Hospital, Winnie.  He was born on November 7, 1953, in Kountze, to Nola Jane Wood Simmons and Bernice Edward Simmons, Sr.  Billy had worked as a machinist with Riverside Machine Shop in Kountze.

Survivors include his son, Billy “Little Billy” Simmons, Jr. of Lumberton; grandchildren, Kyra Simmons and Madison Simmons; soon to be great-granddaughter, Ava Dugas;  brothers, Jimmy Simmons of Silsbee; Eddie Simmons of Livingston; and Tony Simmons and his wife, Nadine, of Lumberton; sister, Nola Coleman of Kountze; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Simmons’ family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
