C. W. "Charlie" LeNormand
August 6, 1930 - June 7, 2015

Charles Wilburn “Charlie” LeNormand, of Beaumont, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the age of 84.  He was born on August 6, 1930, in Hull, Texas, to Mary Lee and David S. LeNormand

After graduating from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1949, he was offered a football scholarship and played for Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. He was a Corporal in the Military Police while serving in the United States Army.  After his discharge, Charlie went to work for Mobil Oil in Lindsay, Oklahoma.  In 1966, he transferred to Mobil Chemical Co., in Beaumont, Texas

Charlie was a treasure box.  There was nothing he could not repair.  He could turn a bad situation into something fun, and had a knack for teaching life lessons without you realizing it at the time.  He had a genuine love for others.  Charlie always had a smile on his face, gave lots of hugs, and had jokes to tell anyone standing still long enough.  He blessed everyone who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Charlie was an active member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, where he served as Junior Warden, Vestry Member, Charter Member of the Class of 1970, Breakfast Chef, and Chief Biscuit Maker.  Charlie also participated in numerous outreach ministries, including Some Other Place and The Humane Society of Southeast Texas.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Ruby Belle LeNormand, five nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dora Belle LeNormand, daughter, Mary Beth LeNormand, and brothers, Sully and Bobby Jo LeNormand.

Mr. LeNormand's funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2015, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 4090 Delaware, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
