Barton Joseph “Bart” Farmer, Jr., 85, of Nederland, died Thursday, June 4, 2015. He was born on May 26, 1930, to Helen Evans and Barton Joseph Farmer, Sr., in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Barton was a Disc Jockey for many years at KYKR with his radio name Bart Evans.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-four years, Nell Farmer, of Nederland; daughters, Cindy Jameson and her husband, Charlie, of Tyler and Kathy Wyatt and her husband, Jimmy, of Monroe, Louisiana; son, Joe Farmer of Nederland;  five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Eleanor Sutherland of California. He will especially be missed by his faithful canine companion, Peppy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Sullivan; father and step-mother, Barton and Key Farmer; and sister, Dorothy Colberg.

A private family committal for Mr. Farmer will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
