Edith Jess Wiley, 88, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Christus Hospital-St Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on May 24, 1927, to Edna Mae Hopkins and Rob Colley. She was one of the oldest living graduates of South Park High School. Jess worked in Washington, D.C. in the United States Naval Department of Defense during World War II and retired as a bookkeeper for Beaumont Bone and Joint. She loved watching golf, was an avid reader, but most of all, loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Jessica Malach and Gordon F. Wiley, both of Beaumont; grandchildren, Carrie and Stephen Henzler of The Woodlands; Katherine and Les Sanford of Beaumont; Joanna and Ros Canales of Houston; Jill Malach of Austin; Katy Wiley of Washington, Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Emma Sanford, Elizabeth Sanford, Matthew Henzler, Jess Henzler, and Ivy Grace Canales; and many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, R.D. Colley; and sister, Rose Marian Doiron. A gathering of Ms. Wiley’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont. |
