Olga Miia Munch, 96, of Beaumont, died Saturday, May 16, 2015. She was born on May 5, 1919, in Esther, Louisiana, to Annette Marie Mestepey and Henry Willis Miia, and was a long time resident of the Beaumont area.

Olga worked as a Federal Court Clerk for almost twenty years under esteemed Judge Joseph Jefferson Fisher of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. She retired at the age of eighty. Olga was a longtime member and served as President of the Pilot Club. In addition to her longtime career, she was also very passionate about the well being of America’s Veterans. Olga was an incredibly loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved spending time with her family, traveling with her sister and cousin. She also enjoyed ice skating.

Olga is survived by her son, John Frederick Munch; grandchildren, Courtney Kimberley Munch and John Frederick Munch, II; sister, Inez Miia Libersat; nieces, Barbara Ziller-Caritey; Karen Libersat Mills; and Cheryl Libersat Reese and her husband Brian; nephews, Murray Libersat, II and his wife, Margaret; and David Daniel Libersat and his wife Kathy; grandniece, Julie Libersat; grandnephews, Julien Libersat and his wife Valerie; and Jeffery Libersat and his wife Chelsea; and great- grandnephews, Mathias Libersat and Oliver Libersat.

Olga is preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Olga’s caregivers, Esther Daniels and Natalie and Tiffany Midkiff, whom she truly loved.

A gathering of Ms. Munch’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
