Rose Murphy, 87, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on October 3, 1927, to Cecile Guillot Roy and Charles Claiborne Roy, in Bunkie, Louisiana. Rose was a caring, giving, and gentle spirit who never complained. Anything you did was fine with her. Her main joy in life was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Robert Charles Murphy and his wife, Glenda, of Livingston; Harold Wayne Murphy and his wife, Phyllis, of Bothell, Washington; and Michael Ray Murphy and his wife, Ellen, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Mark Murphy, Sheila Duff, Jared Murphy, Blake Murphy, Justin Murphy, and David Murphy; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Roy and his wife, Marianne, of Kountze; and sister, Connie Cormier and her husband, Vincent, of Kountze.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, O.B. Murphy; and brother, Tommy Roy.

A gathering of Mrs. Murphy’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
