Archie L. Johnston, 87, of Sour Lake, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was born on September 18, 1927, to Hazel Boone Johnston and Sidney Johnston. Archie was a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a ham radio operator. Most of all, Archie never took for granted the time he spent with his family. He was a loving and humorous father and husband that was full of integrity.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae Johnston; children, Judi C. Benoit and her husband, Ronnie, of China; Rick M. Johnston and his wife, Cathy, of Sour Lake; Tommy D. Johnston of Sour Lake; David B. Johnston and his wife, Ruthann, of Longview; Keith R. Johnston and his wife, Robin, of Lumberton; and Jill P. Alborn and her husband, Matt, of Cypress; granddaughters, Carol Albrecht, Amanda Burkhalter, Judy Peterson, Sarah Johnston, Jessica Johnston Padia, Meg Johnston, and Kindell Johnston; and grandsons, Ryan Johnston, Aaron Johnston, Chuck Benoit, Reuben Johnston, Eric Alborn, Adam Alborn, Logan Bryant, and Justin Padia.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bobbye Jean Killgo; and son, Robert Archie Johnston.

A Rosary for Mr. Johnston will be recited at 5:00 p.m. with a gathering to follow until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2015, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 225 West Barkley, Sour Lake. His interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
