Raymond Lamar Wheeler, Jr. 
March 15, 1947 - March 8, 2015

Lamar Wheeler, 67, of San Antonio, died peacefully at his home,  Sunday, March 8, 2015.  He was born on March 15, 1947, in Silsbee, the eldest son of Alice M. Wheeler and Raymond L. Wheeler, Sr.

 

Lamar retired from U.S.A.A. of San Antonio and Gulf States Utilities Company in Beaumont, where he was employed as a computer programmer.  Lamar enjoyed woodworking, camping, and riding his motorcycle.

 

Survivors include his brother, David Wheeler of Shiner; sister, Denise Wheeler of Cypress; stepson, Justin Rachal; two nephews, Ben and Rick Hunter; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

 

A funeral service for Mr. Wheeler will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, San Antonio. Additional funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
