Ngam Phiv Kim
May 8, 1932 - February 24, 2015

Ngam Phiv Kim, 82, of Beaumont, died at 4:20 a.m., on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. Mrs. Ngam Phiv Kim was born in 1932 in Prey Chhor, Kampong Cham, Cambodia, to Gich Heak and Jia Kim Phiv.

She married the love of her life, Tong Ang Tang, with whom she had nine children. Together, with their children, they migrated to Los Angeles, California in 1979 where they lived for twenty-six years before moving to Beaumont, Texas in 2005, where they lived with one of their daughters.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother of nine children, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a very supportive sister. She was always there to lend a helping hand. She would bathe, feed and take care of her grandchildren while their parents were at work. We will miss her laugh, which lit up the whole room, hugs and kisses, and just about everything else including her lectures and wisdoms.

One thing she loved was gardening. She has planted all varieties of herbs, fruits and vegetables. She also loved being surrounded by her big family, especially during special occasions, in which she enjoyed cooking for her family.

While she was ill, with her granddaughters, Jessica and Teresa by her side, Ngam Phiv Kim took her last breath and left us peacefully. She was beautiful, funny, loving, and caring, but most of all she was a fighter. We all know that she loved us with every living breath and will continue to love us ever after. We hope she knows we love and treasure her just as much as she did with us. Although she’s gone, she will be truly missed and never be forgotten. We love her, forever and always.

She is survived by her nine children, Tong Chhiv Tang & Song Leng Ear, Koang Chhun Chhen & Eng Gim Ear, Meng Chhun Tang & Hun Muy Lov, Ly Chhiv Tang & Hong Chhuor, Tek & Dary Tang, Hieng Chhiv Tang, Leng & Deanna Tang, Judy Tang & Quang Lee, and Trisha & Chin Scott Tang; twenty-six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kim is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Tong Ang Tang.

A funeral service for Mrs. Kim will be held at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
