Dioris Marie Thibodeaux
February 6, 1929 - February 20, 2015

Dioris Marie Thibodeaux, 86, of Port Acres, died peacefully at her home Friday, February 20, 2015.. She was born February 6, 1929 to Ida and Clovis Lavergne in Church Point, Louisiana.

Dioris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She and her husband of fifty-six years, Joseph Thibodeaux, owned and operated the Rodair Club, a staple in the Cajun community for thirty-nine years.

She was an amazing dancer, was known for her impeccable style, amazing smile, and delicious Cajun cooking.

She loved being outside working in her flower beds, and her yard reflected that passion every spring when her flowers were in full bloom.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family to whom she was the perfect example of true, selfless love.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Thibodeaux and wife, Anita of Port Acres, Texas and Ronnie Thibodeaux and companion, Dottye Pearson of Port Acres, Texas; granddaughters, Kara McCaw and husband, Randall of Port Neches, Texas and Michelle Higginbotham and husband, Charlie of Bridge City, Texas; grandsons, Brandon Sessions of Nederland, Texas and Jason Thibodeaux and girlfriend, Darlene Hill of Nederland, Texas; five great-grandchildren who she loved “Big, Big”; and sister, Etheline Lavergne of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Dioris is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thibodeaux; daughter, Arleen Thibodeaux; granddaughter, Brandi Thibodeaux; and sisters, Bernice Schexenider, Rosa Bell Matte, Agnes Smith, and Eva Mae Benoit.

The family would like to extend a very heart-felt thank you to the staff at River City Hospice, especially Elsie and Baileigh, for such great care.

A gathering of Mrs. Thibodeaux’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street.
