Audrey Wynn 
February 26, 1920 - February 12, 2015

Audrey L. Wynn, 94, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, February 12, 2015, in the presence and love of her family and dear friends. She was born February 26, 1920, in De Kalb, Mississippi, and moved to Port Arthur at the age of 12. Audrey graduated from Beaumont High School in 1937, lettering in tennis. She worked at Hotel Beaumont and Lloyd Baker Photography until marrying Dow Wynn II in 1948.

Audrey enjoyed the fellowship and love of education during her twenty-five years as a secretary to the head of the English Department at Lamar University. She loved her Lord and celebrated this love with years of singing in the church choirs of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Audrey assisted her husband in the Catholic Diaconate Ministry from 1979 to 1998, often serving as a lector and prayer leader at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

She is survived by children, JR Spears of Grimes County, Virginia Wynn Huey of Montgomery, Jan Wynn of Beaumont, and Dow (Buddy) Wynn III of Tyler. Audrey is blessed with eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends of all ages who lover her dearly.

Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Dow Wynn II.

She leaves an amazing legacy of the celebration of Faith, Family, and Friends. Audrey touched many with her kind and generous spirit. She goes to her Father uplifted by the eternal love of all she touched.

A gathering of Mrs. Wynn’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
