Phillip Davis Young
January 16, 1961 - February 16, 2015

Phillip Davis Young, 54, of Beaumont, died Monday, February 16, 2015, at his home. He was born on January 16, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas, to Sharon Webb Young and John Young.

Phillip lived his life following the simplest of scripts-- if you want a friend, be a friend-- And Phil had them and was treasured by them. Phillip was respectful, walked the earth softly, and played a thunderous, thumping bass in a rock band! He was a loving husband and father. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, suffered an injury, and proudly sported Disabled American Veteran license plates. Besides music, Phillip was also in tune with nature and was able to name every bird, plant, and flower. All animals loved him, seeming to sense the thoughtful and caring person he was. Phillip deeply loved his family and friends. He sometimes surprised you with tokens letting you know he was always listening and reminding you how important you were to him. He loved to read about history, nature, animals, and was an expert at crossword puzzles. Phillip set a good example for his boys as well, teaching them to be sincere to all, follow what you love, and never give up. He finished his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree in 2008. Phillip made a marriage built to last. He leaves a legacy of quiet determination and what it means to be a stand-up guy until he finally could not. Phillip Davis Young brought the serenity of a floating cloud and punctuated it with a bass thunder. As the last note fades, let him rest in peace.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Honey Young; sons, Cody and Collin Young; granddaughter, Fiarrah Young; mother, Sharon Young; brother, Cary Young and his wife, Brandi; sister, Cristi Kethan and her husband, Chris; nieces and nephews, Brandon Young, Bailey Young, Chloe Young, Tori Green and her husband, David, Paisley Green and Rylie Kethan.

Phillip is preceded in death by his father, John Young
