Andrus "Andy" Simon 
September 24, 1940 - February 14, 2015

Andrus “Andy” Simon, 74, of Winnie, died Saturday, February 14, 2015, at The Arboretum of Winnie. He was born on September 24, 1940, in Chambers County, to Rohelia Landry Simon and Wallace Simon, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Andrus was a United States Navy veteran and he was a retired instrument engineer.

 

He enjoyed working in his garden, raising hay on his farm, and spending time with his grandchildren. 

 

Andrus was survived by his sons, James Simon and his wife, Lisa and Jeff Simon and his wife, Olga; and brothers, Alvin Simon and his wife, Alice; Russell Simon and his wife, Mary; and Rayward Simon and his wife, Carolyn, all of Winnie; sister, Diane Zambardino and her husband, Mike, of Beaumont; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

 

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Claudean; parents; and son, John Phillip Simon.

 

A gathering of Mr. Simon’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with his Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
