Doris Janelle Caskey, 79, of Nederland, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of the area, she was born on December 30, 1935, in Port Neches, to Dorothy Bumstead Read and W.A. Read.

Doris was an active member at First Baptist Church in Port Neches. She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them.

Survivors include her daughter, Rene Hogg and her husband, Lynn, of Kirbyville; son, Sam Caskey of Missouri City; grandchildren, Garrett Hogg, Gunter Hogg, Brooke Caskey, Madison Caskey, and Hannah Caskey; and brother, Ron Read of Port Neches.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Louis Caskey, Sr.; brother, Wesley Read; parents, Dorothy Bumstead Read and W.A. Read; and stepmother, Etoile Read.

A gathering of Mrs. Caskey’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Swearingen Cemetery, Swearingen Cemetery Road, Warren.
