Alfred "Al" J. Wright 
December 17, 1940 - February 1, 2015

Alfred “Al” J. Wright, 74, of China, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of China, he was born on December 17, 1940, to Ovina Olivier Wright and Ned Wright. Al was a United States Army veteran and retired as manager with Ziebart after twenty plus years of service.   Al had so many wonderful friends. He enjoyed visiting with them every day and sharing stories. Al loved to watch football, but his all time favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He never missed a game.

 

He will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

 

Al is survived by his children, Brandon Wright and his wife, Tracy; and Kim Atkins, all of China; Jennifer Dearbonne and her fiancé, Chase Kasseroler, of Fannett; Blaine Wright and his wife, Mae, of China; and Trenton Wright and his wife, Stefanie, of Kountze; grandchildren, Johnathan Brasher of Norfolk, West Virginia, Christopher Brasher of Runge, Destiny Wright and Misty Wright, both of China, Jordan Dearbonne of Fannett, Hollie Atkins of Lumberton, Anthony Wright, Bailey Wright, Zachary Wright, and Wyatt Wright, all of China, Taylor Wright, William Wright, and Natalie Stanley, all of Kountze; sister, Ethel Smith of Vidor; brother, James Wright of Cheek; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and close friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of forty-nine years, Carolyn Wright; five brothers; and three sisters.

 

A Rosary for Mr. Wright will be recited at 5:00 p.m., with a gathering of his family and friends to follow, Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 West Highway 90, China, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.
