David W. Bearden, Sr., 72, of Beaumont, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on April 14, 1942, to Mattie Ethel Jennings and Robert Bearden in Foreman, Arkansas. David enjoyed playing the guitar and mandolin and listening to country, gospel, and bluegrass music. Mostly he loved his family and church family and also loved his work. David was a loving, caring, and witty person.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Bearden; children, Dorthy Bearden Reynolds and husband, Joel, and David W. Bearden, Jr., both of Beaumont; grandchildren, Jennifer Bourgeois, Laurie Reynolds, and Katie Bearden-Middleton; and great-grandchildren, Lila Bourgeois, Jude Bourgeois, and Parker Priest; and  brother, Charles Bearden of Lowell, Massachusetts.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Aidan Wayne Bearden; three brothers; and four sisters.

A gathering of Mr. Bearden’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
