Vernon Roberts, 76, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born on February 23, 1938, to Frances Haley and Hugh Roberts, in Calhoun, Georgia and had been a longtime resident of the area. Vernon was a United States Army veteran, business owner and operator of Roberts’ Texaco Express Lube in Beaumont for fifty-four years.

Vernon is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Janet Roberts; sister, Linda Comstock and her husband, John, of Porter; grandchildren, Lindsey Powell and her husband, Chad and Lacey Hantrakul and her husband, Paul, all of Beaumont; Clint Davis of Jasper; and Klay Carpenter of Kirbyville; eight great-grandchildren; stepsons, Thomas Carpenter and his wife, Karolyn, of Kirbyville and Bobby Carpenter and his wife, Cindy, of Beaumont; special friends, Frank Ferguson and Daryl Collins.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Roberts.

A gathering of Mr. Roberts’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Broussard’s, with his committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
