Jacob “Jake” Thomas Barcroft, 29, of Beaumont, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, in Savannah, Georgia. He was born on June 16, 1985, to Cindy Outcalt and James Austin Barcroft, in Wellington.

After graduating from West Brook Senior High School in 2003, he enlisted in the United States Army as an Airborne Aviation Electrician.  Jake served honorably for almost ten years including a tour in Korea, Iraq, and two tours in Afghanistan, for over a year each time. He had been working as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan for the past three years. 

Jake is survived by his mother, Cindy Wier and her husband, Kyle; father, James Barcroft; sisters, Magon Loring and her husband, Aaron; Sergeant Michelle Wier USMC; and Ellen Yacobi and her husband, Tim; brother, Michael; grandparents, June and Elmore Outcalt; nephew, Landon Jacob Loring; niece, Carissa Loring; and all his military brothers and sisters in arms.

A gathering of Mr. Barcroft’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont.
