Marion Schrimsher “Doc” Ashworth, PHD of Beaumont died February 2, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Atlanta, Georgia to Buck and Minnie Woodall Schrimsher and lived most of her life in the Beaumont area, she spent her years as an Educator, Humanitarian and a Philanthropist.

Marion is preceded in death by her sister, Toby Champagne and brothers, John H. and Jack Schrimsher. Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Ashworth Norton and her husband James of Houston and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
