Helen R. Breda, 85, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 20, 2014. She was born on June 15, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Emma Martinez Harper and Harold R. Harper.

Helen is survived by her children, James M. Breda of Nederland; Mary E. Gilliam and her husband, Spencer, of Midland; and Susan L. Alani and her husband, Wayne, of Sugar Land; grandchildren, Amanda Breda, Colleen Alani, Phillip Alani, Jarod Gilliam, JoAnna Price, Joyce Able, Alexandra Alani, and Lauren Alani; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Harper and his wife, Anita Rose, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Virginia Harper of Acworth, Georgia; Joseph Harper and his wife, Lorraine, of Picayune, Mississippi; and Nathalie Craven and her husband, George, of Acworth, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest John Breda; and sisters, Betty, Joyce, and Claire.

A funeral service for Mrs. Breda will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder, Beaumont. A graveside service will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at St. Margaret Cemetery, 30300 Catholic Hall Road, Albany, Louisiana.
