Donald M. Duhon
September 11, 1932 - December 18, 2014

Donald Duhon, 82, of Missouri City, died Thursday, December 18, 2014. He was born on September 11, 1932, in Beaumont, to Bessie Mae Sherrill Duhon and Mayo Joseph Duhon.

Don's father Mayo taught him about oil refining and production at Mobil Refinery in Beaumont.  His father made him learn how and why things worked as they did and this gave Don a career that he enjoyed for many years.  Don’s career took him all over the world, from England to the Middle East and from Indonesia to Russia. One of his favorite positions was plant manager of Mobil Refinery near Erath, Louisiana.

In the 1980's, he retired and moved to Honey Island, with his wife of 45 years, Betty Duhon, whom he adored.  They spent their time growing blueberries, strawberries, mayhaws, and more.  Some of his happiest days were spent working on their farm.

Don was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father. He was a private man who loved his family, his work, fishing, and farming. Don will be missed most by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sisters, Katherine Manual and her husband, Edmond Manual, and their family; Linda Harvey and her family; and Barbara Martin and her family.  He is also survived by his son, Dane Duhon and his wife Magda Duhon, and by a grandson, Jace Duhon.  Don loved them all deeply.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Duhon, and his sister Barbara Martin.

A gathering of Mr. Duhon’s family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 W Monroe, Kountze. His graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Saturday at Guedry Cemetery, 11775 Batson Prairie Road, Batson Texas.
