Tine Turner 
November 23, 1926 - December 16, 2014

Tine Turner, 88, of Kountze, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Pine Arbor Nursing Home, Silsbee. He was born on November 23, 1926, in Monticello, Arkansas, to Cora Mason Turner and Tine Turner, Sr. Tine retired from the paper mill in Evadale and later owned and operated The Armadillo in Honey Island.

 

Survivors include his children, Teena Elkins and her husband, Don and Tracy Baker and her husband, Paul, all of Kountze; grandchildren, Jeremy Martinka and his wife, Kathy, of Kountze; Hayley Martinka of Beaumont; Mason Baker of Kountze; Aaron Baker of Kountze; and Corey Elkins and his wife, DeeDee, of Honey Island; great-grandsons, Jaxon Martinka, Parker Martinka, Zane Martinka, Maddox Martinka, Wyatt Elkins, and Clayton Elkins; sister-in-law, Winona Turner of Goodwill, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

 

A gathering of Mr. Turner’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandy Spencer, Sandra Clemons, and Billie Jean Sanders, for being there for daddy when he really needed them most.
