Betty Hazel Purkey, 81, of Augusta, Arkansas, formerly of Beaumont, died Friday, December 12, 2014, at Oakdale Nursing Home, Augusta, Arkansas. She was born on March 14, 1933, in Griffithville, Arkansas, to Rose Barnett.

Betty is survived by her son, Ronnie Kissinger of Augusta, Arkansas; grandchildren, Steven, Lavonda, and Crystal; and great-grandchildren; Grayson, Evan, and Damion.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon S. Purkey.

A gathering of Mrs. Purkey’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
