Steven "Red" Ray Tillman
September 4, 1956 - November 22, 2014

Born in Lansing, Michigan, to Wilze Harrison Tillman and Emma Jean Tillman, Steve passed away at home on November 22, 2014. He was the loving husband to Lisa, with whom he shared thirty-five years.

Steve is survived by wife, Lisa; and son, Jesse Tillman of Beaumont; sisters, Rita Wood of Arkansas and Cathy Matthews of Beaumont; brothers, Gerald Tillman of Leesville, Louisiana and Floyd Tillman of Beaumont; many nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends and biker brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janie; and brother, Terry.

A machine operator for Union Pacific Railroad for twenty-eight years, Steve retired in 2006. He was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Steve never met a stranger and was blessed with a kind and generous heart. He was a wooly, wild, wonderful man, nicknamed “Red” by his biker friends. Steve looked tough on the outside but had a heart of gold. He was an outdoorsman and always happy while hunting, being in the woods, building campfires, and riding his Harley. Everyone knew Red would have a fire built to warm folks at any function. Steve loved music and playing the guitar. He was a gun enthusiast and devoted conservative.

His greatest joy and proudest accomplishment is his son, Jesse, and the relationships with his extended family and friends. We were all blessed to have Steve in our lives. He will be deeply missed.

A gathering of Mr. Tillman’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Shiloh Cemetery, FM 256, Woodville.
