Betty Jean Mitchell, 79, of Vidor, died Monday, November 24, 2014, at Harbor Hospital, Beaumont.  She was born on October 16, 1935, in Saratoga, to Agnes Hendrix Spell and Lonzo Spell, and was a lifelong resident of Vidor.

Survivors include her children, Larry Dale Mitchell, Michael Lee Mitchell, and Deborah Kay LeBouef, all of Lumberton; and Donna Lynn Parker and Marie Rogers and her husband, Robert, all of Vidor; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Donna Mitchell of Vidor.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Bobby Gene Mitchell; parents; son, Bobby Lon Mitchell; and grandchildren, Lonnie Mitchell, Bobby Gene Parker III.

A gathering of Mrs. Mitchell’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Holland Cemetery, Kountze.
