Michael Frank Ellis, Sr.

Michael Frank Ellis, Sr., 60, of Port Arthur, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014. He was born on May 21, 1954, in Fort Benning, Georgia, to Clara LaFern Shuey and Herbert Frank Ellis, and had been a longtime resident of the area. Michael enjoyed motorcycles and sailing. He loved the beach and his grandchildren. Michael was an officer for the ABATE Motorcycle Organization. He was a member of the Native American Absentee Shawnee Tribe.

Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Pamela Malmay Ellis of Nederland; sons, Michael Frank Ellis, Jr. of Port Arthur and Scott Ellis and his husband, Trevor Davis, of Austin; grandchildren, Bailey and Kayla Ellis, of The Woodlands; mother, Clara Ellis Perino of Kirbyville; brother, Chet Ellis of Houston; and sister, Cheryl Ellis Smith of Kirbyville. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank “Chief” Ellis.

A gathering of Mr. Ellis’ family and friends will be at 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
