Dorothea Lea Poole 
September 14, 1933 - November 8, 2014

Dorothea Lea Poole, 81, of Beaumont, died Saturday, November 8, 2014, at home with her family.  She was born on September 14, 1933, to Matilda Wilson Poole and Ernest L. Poole, in Port Arthur, and had been a longtime resident of the area.

 

Dorothea was a member of United Methodist Temple, Port Arthur. She worked as a legal secretary for many years with Sadler and Provost-Umphrey Law Firms.

 

Dorothea was extremely active in little theater both in Beaumont and Port Arthur for many years.  Some of her favorite roles included Lizzie in The Rainmaker, Mrs. Daisy in Driving Mrs. Daisy, Weezer in Steel Magnolias and Suzy in Wait Until Dark.

 

Dorothea is survived by her sisters, Sue Simcox and Barbara Ducote, both of Beaumont; brother, David Poole of Tyler; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service for Miss Poole will be 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

 

She will be greatly missed and forever cherished by those that knew and loved her.
