Veronica “Nixy” Bertrand Gondron, 95, of Port Neches, died Sunday, November 2, 2014. She was born on October 28, 1919, in Loreauville, Louisiana, to Blanch Gonsoulin and John Eugene Bertrand, and had been a longtime resident of the area.

She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Gondron of Houston and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Christian Vigil for Mrs. Gondron will be at 5:00 p.m., with a gathering of her family and friends to follow until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches, with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
