Addie Christine Loftin, 103, of Thicket, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Kountze Nursing Center in Kountze.  She was born on February 28, 1911, in Marlie, Alabama to Addie Eliza Norris Cartrett and Asa Randolph Cartrett, and had been a resident of Thicket since she was eleven years old.  Christine was a mother, granny, and Aunt Christine to most.

Survivors include her children, Adeline Fullingim of Livingston; Mary Alice Cain of Thicket; Jeanine Bratz of Florida; Judy Johnson and her husband, Robert, of Australia; and Janie Warren and her husband, Joe, of Votaw; grandchildren, Susan Gail Davis and her husband, Martin; Van Loggins and his wife, Sue Nell; Victor Nolen Loftin, Mabry Cain; Jesse Cain and his wife, Stephanie; Jennifer Bratz; Robert Johnson; Christopher Johnson; Jason Warren; and Carrie LaRive and her husband, Joe; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Monroe Loftin; son, Forest Loftin; granddaughter, Susan Renee Loftin; and grandson, Alex Johnson. sisters, Frances Nevils, Katie Scarber, Jewel Sutton, Ada “Nette” Ayers;  and Jane Williams; and brothers, Lee Cartrett, A.D. “Pete” Cartrett, K.C. Cartrett, and Ollie Cartrett.

A gathering of Mrs. Loftin’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Felps Cemetery, Thicket.
