Claire Audrey Scaife Ponthieu, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at home, surrounded by family. She was born June 21, 1931, in Beaumont, to Robert Roy Scaife and Bernadette Landry. She attended St. Anthony elementary and high school, and was the devoted wife of her childhood sweetheart, Robert Telisma Ponthieu for sixty-two years, until his passing in 2013.

Left to honor her memory is her daughter, Patricia Ponthieu of Beaumont; sisters, Francis Cain and Margaret Ruth McCullough and her husband, Mac, of Orange; nieces and nephews; and devoted friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Claire and Robert’s life will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2014, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont, with Reverend Monsignor Jeremiah J. McGrath officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
