Dwight E. Rose, 53, of Nederland, died Sunday, October 12, 2014, in Groves. He was born on August 17, 1961, in San Antonio, to Ada Mae Johnson and Donald Gene Rose, and had been a long time resident of the area.

Dwight was an artist, and he also enjoyed collecting coins, sport shooting, traveling, and collecting antiques.

He is survived by his sons, Dylan James Rose and Derick Gene Rose and his wife, Katie; grandson, Hunter Rose; granddaughter, Annabelle Partain; sisters, Donna Curl and Darlene Fontenot and her husband, Trent; brother, Donald Glen Rose and his wife, Deborah; nieces, Jessica Lynne Tucker and Hannah Marie Fontenot; nephews, Mathew Stephens, Brandon Stephens, Christopher Paul Rose, Michael Glen Rose; great-nephews and niece, Gavin Bodin, Brody Stephens, and Rylee Price-Ray.

A gathering of Mr. Rose’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His final resting place will be at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, at a later date.
