Melvin B. Sparks, 77, of Beaumont, Texas, died on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Christus  Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.  He  was born August 5, 1937, in Beaumont , to Chester and Inez Sparks. 

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Shirley Sparks; and numerous nieces and nephews. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, James Arthur Sparks, Christian Benjamin Sparks, Luther Lewis Sparks and William Chester Sparks.

A memorial service for Mr. Sparks will be 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Broussard’s Chapel, 1605 North Major, Beaumont.
