Rosa Lee “Rosie” Stifflemire, 72, of Winnie, died Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Winnie Community Hospital. A lifelong resident of the area, she was born on September 5, 1942, to Rever Beatrice Starnes and John P. McAdams Sr. She will be remembered for her love of children, and was known as everyone’s “Aunt Rosie”.

Survivors include her sons, Britt W. Stifflemire, Monty Lee Stifflemire, and Layton Ray Stifflemire, all of Winnie; daughter, Rosanna Williams and her husband, Michael, of Vilonia, Arkansas; grandchildren, Dylan, Collin, Gwendolynn, Adelina, and Madison; brothers, John P. McAdams Jr. of Stowell and Edgar McAdams of Winnie;  and sister, Doris Spencer of Winnie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of twenty-eight years, Red Stifflemire; brother, Gerald McAdams; and sister, Lois Graham.

A gathering of Mrs. Stifflemire’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery, 223 Cemetery Road, Winnie.
