David Wayne Burt, 61, of Buna, died Thursday, October 9, 2014.  He was born on November 20, 1952, in Orange, to Lometa Brown Burt and Johnnie Clayborn "J.C." Burt.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Burt; children, Stephanie Slaughter and her husband, Terry, of Bastrop; John David Burt and his wife, Tara, of Buna; Aaron Burt of Orange; Amy Renee Oyeniyi and her husband, Elijah, of Deer Park; Ray Burt and his wife, Sherrie, of Poteet; Roy Burt of South Houston; Autumn Nikol Burt of Buna; Shawn Christopher Manis of Channelview; Kourtney Manis and Matthew Manis, both of Buna; and Amanda Glover and her husband, Bobby, Moriarty, New Mexico; sixteen grandchildren; brother, James Burt and his wife, Sue, of Buna; sister, Mary Combs of Buna; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dorothy Duclion.

His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
