Mary Lee Romere, 93, of Sour Lake, died Friday, October 3, 2014.  She was born April 17, 1921, in Sour Lake to Lula Mae Cates Reneau and Charles Reneau.  She had worked as a retail clerk at Sour Lake Drug Store.

Survivors include her daughter, Carole Votaw and her husband, Clinton, of Pine Ridge; grandchildren, Joy Morgan and her husband, Rickey, of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Vicki Gaspard and her husband, Wilson, of Sour Lake; and Donna Kay Wilkins and her husband, Jim, of Pine Ridge; eleven great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Doucette and Sterling Romere; and grandson, David Votaw.

A gathering of Mrs. Romere’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze, with interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
