Ulrich Ludwig Wilhelm Lichtwardt 
July 24, 1943 - September 30, 2014

Ulrich Ludwig Wilhelm Lichtwardt, 71, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. He was born on July 24, 1943, in Prenzlay, Germany, to Hildegard Klahoelter and Karl August Lichtwardt. Ulrich served in the German Navy.  He was employed as a mechanical engineer for over fifty years.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lichtwardt; daughters, Sonia Marshall; Zulema Diaz; and Vanessa Carrera and her husband, Enrique; sons, Ulrich V. Lichtwardt; Edward Diaz and his wife, Samantha; Richard Diaz; and Garrett Boozer; grandchildren, Alexander Diaz and his wife, Samantha; Kade, Colton, and Kaylee Marshall; Seth Bouget; Kirsten and Madison Diaz; Kinsley and Kassidy Carrera; and Abbigail, Brody, and Phoebe Boozer; great-grandchildren, Kasyn and Korvyn Diaz; brother, Ingo Lichtwardt and his wife, Christine; and sister, Rosemarie and her husband, Alain.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wolfgang Lichtwardt; and grandson, Enrique Isaac Carrera.

A Christian Vigil for Mr. Lichtwardt will be 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of his family and friends to follow until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Broussard’s. A family committal will be held at a later date at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
