Jimmy "Slick" Sturrock
August 17, 1952 - September 28, 2014

Jimmy “Slick” Sturrock, 62, of Vidor, died Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.  Born August 17, 1952, in Beaumont, he was the son of Jennieva Morris Sturrock and Lester Wayne Sturrock. Jimmy was the owner of Jubi Prints in Beaumont and Vidor and an investor in AmeriCommerce Ecommerce Software. He was an influential and unforgettable person who knew how to make people smile and how to make people fat with good southern cooking. Jimmy made it a habit of feeding everyone around him to make sure everyone came together as an extended family through weekly family nights, constant BBQs, and many late nights just kicking back and relaxing. He was easily the best boss and family man you could ask for. His personality, sometimes controversial, was half the fun and forged many tight bonds over the years because everyone considered Slick a friend. He never met a stranger and bent over backwards to do anything for anyone that he cared about. Jimmy had a zest for life, a passion for guns, politics, family and friends. Jimmy will be greatly missed and his memory will remain in their hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Sturrock of Vidor; son, Edward Wayne Sturrock and his significant other, Julie Reed, of Vidor; grandchildren, Alexis Sturrock, Luke Sturrock, Kai Reed, and Bode Reed.

A gathering of Mr. Sturrock’s family and friends will be Friday evening, October 3, 2014, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with the memorial service immediately following at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A memorial dinner gathering will follow services at the home of Edward Sturrock at 6380 Ellington Lane, Beaumont, Texas 77706, and all are welcome.  Jimmy would have wanted everyone to raise a glass and celebrate his passing with a smile and funny stories.
