Betty Menard, 84, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 29, 2014, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.  She was born on October 20, 1929, in Nederland, to Olga Stehle Van Marion and Leonard Van Marion, and had been a longtime resident of the area.

Betty is survived by her husband, L. G. Menard; and sons, Philip Menard and James Menard, all of Beaumont; daughter, Karen Line and her husband, Dennis;  and granddaughter, Erin Line, all of Bridge City; brothers, Alvin Van Marion of Nederland and Neiles Van Marion of Beaumont; sister, Shirley Solis and her husband, Nick, of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Pearl Cureton, Norma Wilkins, and JoAnne Walker.

A gathering of Mrs. Menard’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
